Impact of the Masa

Over the years, the Masa has shown to have a significant impact on the participants in terms of the strengthening of their identities on the personal, group and national level. Research has shown clearly that the Masa has struck a chord with the vast majority of participants and they have indeed re-connected with what was already theirs. (Click here to view the research results.)

Beyond the statistical data shown by the research, the following additional benefits of the Masa have been identified:

  • Helps unify the class and improves the atmosphere at the school
  • A higher percentage of students are likely to enlist in the IDF and joint a front line, combat unit
  • A significant decline in incidences of violence and vandalism
  • Increased student motivation to become involved in social and volunteer activities
  • Change in the school’s attitude concerning the class trip as an educational tool and its ability to positively influence students
  • More developed discussion and debating skills
  • Students perceive bible, history and civics classes as more relevant and important
  • Participants are more likely to begin to explore what Judaism is all about
  • Participants are more likely to build their careers in Israel, rather than go abroad
  • Participants are more likely to be sensitive to others
  • Participants are more likely to feel a sense of love for every Jew in Israel and outside of Israel, despite the many differences (Sephardic and Ashkenazi; Religious and Secular; Rich and Poor; Coming from the cities or the periphery; etc...)
